FUNICULAR STATION
HIGH TATRAS Slovak Republic
This unique interior design project focused on the modernization of the original interior of the funicular station of an iconic funicular line, which leads to one of the highest peaks of the Slovak Republic - Lomnický štít (2634 m.a.s.l.).
The station is located on Skalnaté Pleso in the High Tatras region. Given the elevation of the station itself, 1770 m.a.s.l., the high mountain terrain, there were three studios working on this project led by a young interior design team from FURNICOOLTURE studio (Patrik Bujňák, Mia Bujňáková, Mária Bujňáková). STUDIO Ltd. was represented by our colleague, Mr. arch. Lukáš Sečka, who worked along the Igor Cziel Studio led by Mr. arch. Igor Cziel.
The overall interior reflects the rocky mountain terrain texture of the High Tatras and the specially designed pictograms introducing the history of the funicular line proposed in the 30s and opened in 1941.
